Go Gocco!
About a month ago I had the good fortune to read Amy's blog at just the right time. She had bought a few Goccos in Japan and was going to list them on Ebay. I very excitedly ran my cousin Jo to see if she was interested and we bought one.
Yesterday we had our first go. I am by no stretch of anyone's imagination an artist, so came up with a few very simple designs. We spent a lot of time doodling and chatting and generally being intimidated by the small blue machine.
We finally chose our desgins, and loaded the machine up ready to go.
The moment of truth - setting of the flash to set the screen.
It worked!
Next step was to ink the screen and do some printing. We didn't have any fabric screens so just set the normal paper ones but loaded it with fabric ink .

What a cool machine, your prints look great!
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks like so much fun! I love the end result.
ReplyDeleteMy eyes are blazing green with envy... You HAVE to bring it brown owls!
ReplyDeleteSo have you done enough to work out PRECISELY HOW ADDICTIVE YE OLDE GOCCO IS?! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteMichelle,
ReplyDeleteThey look great !!! I don't think there are different screens for fabric so don't worry about it....
Can't wait to see the sheep.
Michelle! You get points for actually using your gocco. Mine has been lingering in a box.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric screens are for screenprinting. They don't have a plastic sheet on them, but they do have a wider holes to allow the paint to set better.
You can usenormal ones with fabric too, it's just a finer print.
Wow! I want one!!! Can't wait to see what you do with it - loving the mushies on the journal.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Makes me smile too. I so need to have a play with one of them. So, I am knitting the in threes in the size 5 but would love to make a bigger one for my 9 year old. Where are you adding the extra stitches and how many? I am such a beginner, any help would be greatly appreciated. X
ReplyDeleteClever idea - and the end product is great. Well done!
